Brand and packaging work for some great clients in the beverage industry

BROWN'S BREWING CO. :: 2004 (TROY, NY)

Rewind back to 2004: Garry Brown, owner of a small but seriously capable brewpub in Upstate NY gave id29 a call. He wanted to go regional and, eventually, national with his fine ales and lagers. Garry knew that his existing brand and articulation of his story weren’t up to the task. He knew that his presentation and image not only needed to reflect the quality of his products and ideals, but also needed to stand out amongst the overly-crowded shelves of craft beerdom.

BROWN'S BREWING CO. :: 2016 (TROY, NY)

Fast forward a decade plus: Craft beer has blown up in a big way. Powered—in part, by id29's 2004 brand work—Brown’s Brewing is doing extremely well. We rebranded our own rebrand from 2004, and they’re expanding distribution and canning. Armed with updated and refined assets, package design and marketing communications—in addition to a delicious product—they’re ready to do battle in this extremely competitive category. The updated Brown's brand is a cleaner, more modern approach to their somewhat traditional brand identity. Cheers!

    DAVIDSON BROS. BREWING CO. (GLENS FALLS, NY)

    id29 was asked to help rebrand Glens Falls-based Davidson Bros. Brewing in 2015. The challenge was to reposition their brand as a American version of a traditional British brewing company. Regardless of the effort, they never pulled the trigger on this redesign. Alas, file under: Never Saw the Light of Day.

    C.H. EVANS BREWING CO. :: 2015 (ALBANY, NY)

    Neil Evans’ family has a rich heritage of brewing. Their original brewery in Hudson, NY was built in 1786. The brewery’s ales were enjoyed in the Northeast U.S. as well as England and France. So, when Neil asked id29 to re-imagine his brewery and product brands, we approached the project with great care.

    The new brand assets that we developed for C.H. Evans are certainly contemporary but they’re also extremely respectful of the brewery’s history. When a craft brewery’s brand assets make you thirsty (and scientific research shows that these do), you know they’re good.
